Counsellor of The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Tofig Musayev at the invitation of the Centre of global problems of the University of New York read there lecture on "Military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan: the root causes, results and international legal framework for settlement" in the course "Ethnic conflict" for master students on the field of international law and relations. This is stated in press release of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN, received by Trend on Saturday.
Lecture on protracted conflicts in South Caucasus, which affect the security and independence, hinder democratic development, and in general are the main cause of instability in the region, was read in the legal and political-historical framework. During three-hour lecture in chronological order main reasons and results of conflict were explained, points of international law basis for its approval are outlined. For full disclosure of the theme a map on the "Results of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan" was shown. Then the numerous questions of teachers and students regarding the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group, obstacles to the settlement of the conflict, Khojali genocide, state of refugees, the so-called "Armenian genocide" and foreign policy of Azerbaijan, were answered.
In conclusion, was shown the film "War against Azerbaijan - aiming at cultural heritage", library and university management, as well as students were presented collection of "UN Documents on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", the book "War against Azerbaijan - aiming at the cultural heritage", a brochure "Khojali tragedy - an international view" and the map "Results of the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan".
