Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will not run for the presidency in 2012. Putin told Valdai discussion club that he will not a rival to Dmitriy Medvedev, APA quotes RIA-Novosty. According to Director of the Russian and Asian program of the World Security Institute Nikolay Zlobin, Putin said that they would agree between themselves because they share same laws and political views. The Prime Minister said he would together with Medvedev to prepare political plans and to nominate candidates considering the situation of United Russia bloc during the presidential elections. Political scientist Ariel Kohen said Putin sad he and the president had no ambitions. Vladimir Putin was the Russian president in 2000-2008 for two terms and according to the Constitution, he couldn’t run for the third term. Medvedev was elected the Russian president last year.
