Azerbaijani Government reports to Parliament
The next sitting of Azerbaijani Parliament’s spring session has begun.APA reports that the agenda includes the discussion of the report submitted to the parliament by Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers. Speaker of the Parliament Ogtay Asadov said the government had prepared a thorough and accurate report. The Speaker said the report analyzed socio-economic, national security, civil defense and other spheres.
Speaking about the development of Azerbaijani economy Ogtay Asadov said growth rate of non-oil sector exceeded the growth rate of oil sector. The Speaker said the financial crisis reached its peak in the world, but had little impact on Azerbaijan. He noted that compared with the previous years budget expenses increased by 80 percent in 2008.
“Some people say the government has no anti-crisis policy. But this is not true. Measures are taken in connection with this in many spheres,” he said.
Following the speaker’s speech, First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov began presenting the government’s report.
