Georgian military units have gathered near Grom village of South Ossetia, APA reports. The village residents say at least 20 armoured vehicles and 50 special appointed forces have been deployed in the area. The residents appealed to the responsible representative on human rights of the unrecognized republic’s president David Sanakoyev. Sanakoyev, who investigated the fact, confirmed to Interfax that Georgian military units had gathered in the territory. According to the initial reports, Georgia is deploying armoured vehicles and forces near Georgian village Adevi. Representatives of the unrecognized republic have already informed the mission of the European Union in Georgia. Member of the mission Matias Van Loheyzen promised to study the situation and take measures to eliminate tension.
Earlier “president” of the unrecognized republic Eduard Kokoity said he was dissatisfied with the activity of the European observers. He said the members of the mission ignore Georgians’ new firing points in the bordering region.
“Georgians have 35 armed posts in the area for which the European observation is responsible. Totally 2500 Georgian servicemen have been deployed in the bordering region,” he said.
