Ambassador: “The US proposes Azerbaijan to sign an agreement on local radio broadcasts of international media”
“Discussions conducted during the visit of the representatives of U.S Broadcasting Board of Governors were productive”, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse said, APA reports.The Ambassador noted that members of the Broadcasting Board of Governors had conducted capacious debates in Azerbaijan.
“I want to note while speaking about the subject of negotiations that the Broadcasting Board of Governors presented a primary version of international and bilateral agreement to Azerbaijani Government as it was exactly proposed by Azerbaijan. The agreement also envisages resumption of local radio broadcasts of international media as it was before,” she said.
Ms. Derse underlined that the document gave good and perfect opportunity to Azerbaijani broadcasters.
“Azerbaijan will be provided with transmission in the US. I am satisfied with ideas and opinions that Azerbaijani broadcasters would carry out their broadcasting in Azerbaijani and English in the US. I think that the activity of Azerbaijani broadcasters in our media will enrich our media and assist to increase awareness of the US people about Azerbaijan. We are waiting for the reply to our proposals,” she added.
