ENERGY DEPARTMENT SECRETARY
US SUPPORTS CREATING ROUTES OF ENERGY RESOURCES DELIVERY FROM CASPIAN REGION: ENERGY DEPARTMENT SECRETARY

ENERGY DEPARTMENT SECRETARY“The United States still supports creating independent and commercially stable and competitive routes which will allow to deliver energy resources from the Caspian Sea to east, west, north and south,” Samuel Bodman, Secretary of Energy Department of the United States said, according to press release by the US Embassy issued on November 12.

“Doubtless, the right management will allow the energy potential of this region to ensure economic growth for all people living in the region and investors. We can hope that additional energy projects and reliable network of pipelines will be created to secure transportation of oil and gas to Western markets by continuing propaganda on favorable investment climate,” Bodman said.

Secretary of Energy Department of the United States will arrive in Baku as head of the US delegation to attend 4th Energy Summit where Washington’s commitments on development of South Energy Corridor and delivery of Mediterranean and Caspian oil to world markets will be discussed.

The summit will focus on opportunities of diversification of energy supply sources and transit routes and stepping up competitiveness of energy resources market.

The first energy summit took place in city of Krakow of Poland in May 2006, second – in Lithuanian capital city in November 2007 and third - in Kiev in May 2008.
