U.S. VICE PRESIDENT RICHARD CHENEY TO VISIT AZERBAIJAN EARLY IN SEPTEMBER
U.S. Vice President Richard Cheney will visit Azerbaijan early in September. APA reports quoting RIA Novosti that Richard Cheney will visit Azerbaijan within the framework of his travel that will start on September 2.
The Vice President will visit Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Italy. Analysts regard this visit as Richard Cheney’s expressing support to Tbilisi in the conflict with Russia.
The US Embassy in Azerbaijan states that during his travel the Vice President will meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, Ukraine’s President Victor Yushchenko, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and senior officials. Richard Cheney will also participate in the annual Ambrosetti Forum “Intelligence on the World, Europe and Italy” in Lake Como.
