AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA TO BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS ON ENERGY COOPERATION SOON

Azerbaijan and Russia will begin negotiations to define terms of energy cooperation in the next few days, said Vasili Istratov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan at the press-conference on Tuesday in Baku, APA reports.
The Ambassador said one of the main issues discussed by Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev in Baku was about that. Commenting on the President’s visit, Istratov said the sides discussed the unresolved issues and this visit created basis for the new constructive dialogue between the countries and opened a new page in Azerbaijan-Russia relations. He touched upon the border delimitation between the two countries. “This issue will be solved soon. There are few disagreed points on the border delimitation. Both sides have an intention to solve the problem, but positions divide on some issues”. Speaking about the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh problem, the Ambassador said Russia wanted to make maximum contribution to this process. “Russia is ready to give maximum assistance to the solution of Nagorno Karabakh problem and welcomes progresses in the negotiations. We will do our best to realize all agreements”.
