PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN, UKRAINE AND GEORGIA HAVE TRILATERAL MEETING IN BATUMI

Presidents of Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Georgia Ilham Aliyev, Viktor Yushchenko and Mikhail Saakashvili had a trilateral meeting in Batumi within the framework of the third summit of GUAM.
APA reports that problems and prospects of GUAM were discussed at the meeting. Meeting in the format of GUAM+US was held and joint declaration was adopted within the framework of the meeting.
Elmar Mammadyarov, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan chairing GUAM, national coordinator Araz Azimov, Secretary General of GUAM Valeri Chechelashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Merkel attended the meeting. The sides discussed political cooperation, prospects of future cooperation, trade, transport, security of borders, new projects in the field of taxes, combating terrorism and organized crimes.
The next meeting in the format of GUAM-US will be held within the framework of the 63rd session of UN General Assembly in New York in September.
