WORKING GROUP ON CASPIAN LEGAL STATUS TO MEET IN BAKU LATE IN JULY
The next meeting of the working group on the legal status of the Caspian Sea will take place in Baku late in July. APA reports that the delegations headed by deputy foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Russia and Iran will attend the meeting. The text of the Convention on the status of the Caspian Sea will be discussed during the meeting. In accordance with the decision of Tehran summit to hold a special conference on the Caspian’s security in Baku, all proposals on security issues will be summarized and a unique project will be prepared basing on it. Security issues include prevention of illegal actions in the Caspian Sea – terrorism, smuggling, sale of arms, human trafficking, safety issues of the littoral states, safety of the activities carried out in the sea, security of investments of the companies engaged in producing mineral resources in the Caspian etc. The working group will also schedule the conference on security.
