PACE PRESIDENT LLUÍS MARIA DE PUIG: “AZERBAIJAN IS ON THE WAY OF DEMOCRATIZATION”
“Azerbaijan is on the way of democratization, Human Rights are protected, legal state is being established”, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Lluís Maria de Puig told journalists, APA reports.
The PACE President noted that he would conduct discussions with state officials on improvement of democratization during the visit. Maria de Puig reminded that Azerbaijan was one of the 47 members of the Council of Europe. Asked why PACE did not give adequate reaction to the developments in Armenia after presidential elections Lluís Maria de Puig stated that he visited here to speak about Azerbaijan.
“PACE has recently passed a decision on activity of democratic institutions in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity has been recognized in the document”, he said.
