SOCAR will $17 billion invest in Turkey`s economy
SOCAR, Azerbaijan`s state oil company has become a leading company not only of the country, but also the entire region thanks to application of modern management mechanism and technological novelties.

Taking into account the idea of “one nation, two states” of national leader Heydar Aliyev, the Company has entered the energy market of the fraternal country with huge projects. Currently, SOCAR builds a new refinery ($5 billion) at the site of Petkim Petrokimya Holding, Turkey`s largest oil-chemistry enterprise what shows the importance SOCAR and the Azerbaijani State attach to the economic relations with the brotherly country. Mass media and news agencies of Turkey reported that Azerbaijan`s SOCAR is the company to invest largest amount in the country`s economy, informing about big energy resources of Azerbaijan.

Kenan Yavuz, head of the “SOCAR Energy Turkey” said till 2018 SOCAR will totally invest in Turkey`s economy 17 $billion what is, according to him, the largest investment in private sector of Turkey.

Naming the already implemented projects as BTC oil pipeline, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas main, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway projects, Kenan Yavuz said now the Trans-Anatolian gas main project ($6 billion) was launched. The gas main will connect Azerbaijan and Europe.

Today, Turkey is the biggest purchaser of Azerbaijani gas that is exported from the Shahdeniz deposit. The gas agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey last year has defined exact prices of gas delivery operations, and also enabled secure delivery of the Azerbaijani gas to the European markets. Azerbaijan sells its gas to Turkey cheaper than other countries do, the Turkish media reports, quoting Vagif Aliyev, head of the Board of Petkim Petrokimya Holding as saying.

Today the long-term energy partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkey has reached a new strategic level. Today the mutually profitable projects enrich the existing friendly and brotherly relations in the political field even more.
