IRAN, AZERBAIJAN SIGNS PROTOCOL ON CARGO TRANSIT COOPERATION

A protocol on the sea and transport transit cooperation was signed between Iran and Azerbaijan in Teheran.
According to the information by IRNA on 12 May, Alirza Satei, Deputy Chief of the Iranian Port and Shipping Organization, stated that the goods transport via the Caspian Sea, protection of sea plurality, transport issues and security of goods transport were discussed in the meeting held by the officials of the both countries. The sides have reached agreement on the issues.
The 2nd meeting of the Port Committees of Azerbaijan and Iran was held in Teheran from 4 to 6 May. The Iranian private port and sea transit companies took part in the meeting.
