USA, AZERBAIJAN TO DISCUSS GLOBAL PROBLEMS
The United States and Azerbaijan plan to hold a meeting this summer to discuss the regional security, US Ambassador Anne Derse said to journalists on 5 May. “The bilateral meeting will discuss drug trafficking, as well as jointly combating the human trafficking,” she said.
Last time, the United States and Azerbaijan held consultations in Washington on 9 to 10 July 2007. They discussed Azerbaijani security, mainly in order to provide security in the Caspian Sea; joint struggle against proliferaiton of mass destruction weapons, Azerbaijan’s role in fighting against terrosim, as well as Azerbaijan’s integration with NATO.
Derse added that the date and venue of the consulations between the two countries are being currently defined.
