The visit will take place in the future upon Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov's invitation.
"This will be the first official visit from Malta at such a high level. Now we are working on this visit," Karimov added.
Azerbaijani Embassy in Malta with residence in Rome operates since 2006.
According to Kerimov, relations between the two countries are developing quite successfully.
"About seven draft agreements are now under discussion and will be signed soon. The documents cover economics, tourism, there are also draft agreements on cooperation between foreign ministries and universities," he said.
