Speaker of the Armenian parliament Tigran Torosyan resigned from his post and left the ruling Republican Party. Torosyan announced his decision at the press conference on Tuesday, APA reports.
The Republican Party said on September 6 that Torosyan was not acceptable in the speaker’s office and nominated former chief of presidential administration Ovik Abramyan for this post. The Republican Party’s allies in the ruling coalition said that decision to change speaker was an exclusive right of the ruling party.
