Justice for Khojaly civil awareness company presented in Kuwait
The presentation of the Justice for Khojaly civil awareness company was held in the office of the Youth Center LOYAK, one of the leading youth organizations in Kuwait, on Feb. 17.
The participants of Kuwait’s youth organizations were informed about the Khojaly Tragedy through the campaign’s website and photo gallery which tells about the tragedy, the OIC Youth Forum said in statement.
At the end of the presentation, participants signed a petition urging the international community to duly assess the Khojaly massacre.
The ceremony was attended by Azerbaijani ambassador to Kuwait Shahin Abdullayev who expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti youth for their initiative in bringing the truth about this tragedy to public attention in Kuwait.
On Feb. 5, OIC Youth Forum Secretary General Elshad Isgandarov held a meeting with representatives of the Youth Center LOYAK to brief Kuwaiti youth activists on work carried out as part of the campaign in 2009. At that meeting, LOYAK Chairman Farah Al-Saggaf expressed willingness of his organizations to support this campaign.
International civil awareness campaign Justice for Khojaly (www.justiceforkhojaly.org) was initiated by OIC YF General Coordinator for Intercultural Dialogue Leyla Aliyeva on May 8, 2008, the day of occupation of Azerbaijan’s Shusha town.
The campaign that aims to raise awareness about the Khojaly Tragedy and ensure political-legal and moral evaluation of the tragedy by the world community, is successfully implemented by hundreds of volunteers in over 30 countries worldwide.
