PACE CO-RAPPORTEURS ISSUE STATEMENT ON RESULTS OF VISIT TO GEORGIA PACE co-rapporteurs on the monitoring of Georgia’s obligations and commitments Mátyás Eörsi (Hungary) and Kastriot Islami (Albania) have issued a statement on the results of their visit to Georgia, Council of Europe Baku office told APA. “It is unthinkable that, in the 21st century, a member State of the Council of Europe invades the territory of another member State The occupation by Russia of a part of Georgia, as well as the human rights violations in the territories under its control, are unacceptable and cannot go unpunished”, said in the statement.

KAZAKHSTAN On Wednesday, on July, 2nd, secretary general of PA OSCE Oliver Spenser, in the performance at press conference in Astana declared that the decision is made about chairmanship in OSCE of Kazakhistan in 2010 irrespective of whether it will execute the obligations taken on on development of democracy in the country by then. The secretary general also emphasized that Kazakhistan remains in sight to the organization and all processes which will occur in it,these will start to be shined actively in all countries of OSCE. It already speaks that Kazakhstan reached the certain successes in a direction of international integration and as noted the operating chairman of OSCE, the chief of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Alexander Stubb, in OSCE in 2010 will give the presidency to Kazakhstan.
On 5th of July, the leader of Kazakhistan Noursultan Nazarbaev recieved in a presidential palace " Ag Orda " the foreign leaders invited to celebrating of decade of capital of the republic - Astana (Astana is capital of Kazakhstan since October, 1997) and president’s birthday. In connection with moving the capital from Alma-Ata to Akmola the city received the symbolical name Astana that in translation from kazakh means "capital". In celebrations participated also the president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev. In an anniversary of Astana leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Kirghizia, Turkey, Turkmenia, Tajikistan, king of Jordan Abdulla the Second also were assambled. In Astana Dmitry Medvedev with kazakh leader discussed construction of the Caspianshore gas main and expansion of the pipeline " Central Asia - the Center ".
