FIRST INTERGOVERNMENTAL ECONOMIC CONFERENCE OF CASPIAN STATES TO TAKE PLACE IN OCTOBERThe first intergovernmental economic conference of the Caspian states will take place in Astrakhan, Russia on October 3-5. APA-ECONOMICS reports quoting RBK that government representatives of Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran will participate in the conference. Business projects on the themes “Trans-border cooperation on effective use and storage of biological resources for continuous development of the Caspian region”, “Formation and development of transport-logistic system of the Caspian: tendencies, goals, prospects”, “Complex use of mineral resources of the Caspian region” and “Caspian region - area of increasing investments”.
The meeting of the organizing committee for preparing and holding the conference will be held in Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade on July 31.

WORLD BANK MAY INCREASE AMOUNT OF ALLOCATIONS TO AZERBAIJANWorld Bank may increase amount of financial aids on implementation of projects in Azerbaijan, APA-ECONOMICS reports
Peter Thomson, Director of Infrastructure Sector in the Europe and Central Asia Region of the World Bank noted that Council of Directors decided to allocate $1.2 billion to Azerbaijan within next two years.
“But it is not the highest limit. Bank can increase limit learning bank capacity of the country,” he said.

GAZ DE FRANCE NOT ALLOWED TO NABUCCOThe candidacy of French energy company Gaz de France as a seventh member of the consortium on the project of construction of Nabucco gas pipeline, was canceled, the press service of the French company said to TrendCapital by telephone.
The press service of Gaz de France did not divulge the reasons for canceling company’s candidacy. The managing director of Nabucco Gas Pipeline International Reinhardt Mitchell was not available for comments.
The participants of Nabucco include the Austrian OMV, Hungarian MOL, Bulgarian Bulgargaz, Romanian Transgaz, Turkish Botas and German RWE. Each of the participants holds equal shares – 16.67% each. Nabucco project worth $12.4bln is expected to deliver gas from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to EU by 2013.
